Liverpool F.C. transfer news: Darwin Nunez wants to return to Anfield after a difficult spell in Saudi Arabia. The forward has terminated his contract with Al-Hilal and is reportedly attracting interest from Chelsea, Barcelona, and Newcastle United. Nunez joined Liverpool in June 2022 from Benfica for an initial fee of £64m, arriving amid high expectations. He scored 40 goals in 143 appearances for the Reds but only started eight Premier League games during their title-winning campaign that was his last season at the club. In a message to Liverpool supporters after his Anfield exit was confirmed, he said: “Thank you, Liverpool. Three years on, it’s time to say goodbye. I’ll take with me countless memories that will live with me forever.
