Liverpool F.C. Manager Andoni Iraola has confirmed new signing Bradley Barcola could make his club debut in Friday's Premier League match at Ipswich Town. The £123 million winger from Paris Saint-Germain has not played any minutes of pre-season football since his summer move, but Iraola said that the 24-year-old French international may be available for selection.
Barcola's last competitive appearance came in the 2026 FIFA World Cup third-place match on July 18. Liverpool have opened their Premier League campaign with two consecutive 2-2 draws against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.
Andoni Iraola provided a clear update on Barcola's potential involvement this week. "If everything goes well in training today, he will definitely be available for us tomorrow," the Liverpool boss said. Barcola signed a five-year contract after completing his move from PSG, where he scored 13 goals last season and won 13 trophies during his time in Paris. The winger recorded 39 goals and 37 assists in 152 total appearances for the French champions.
Iraola emphasized Barcola's desire to join Liverpool was a significant factor in the transfer. "We are very happy with Bradley, it was our priority to sign a very very good player in those positions," he said. "He has come also with the right mentality. I like that he wanted Liverpool a lot. He wanted to come here." The manager confirmed Barcola can play on either the left or right flank, adding that he is accustomed to demanding wingers operate on both sides.
Liverpool's attacking options already include Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz on the wings. The club rejected an £80 million offer from Manchester City for Gakpo during the summer window. Barcola becomes the third £100 million-plus player to join Liverpool in the last two summers.
