Liverpool F.C. Announced that CEO Billy Hogan will meet BBC Sport in New York to detail a possible minority investment while the club prepares for its Yankee Stadium pre‑season match. The Reds finished the 2025 campaign in 5th place with 60 points, posting a record 63 goals scored and 53 conceded, sitting 25 points behind league leaders Arsenal.
Hogan confirmed that a consortium led by British‑Indian businessman Amit Bhatia has approached Fenwick Sports Group for a strategic minority stake. He stressed that the interest aligns with long‑standing statements from owner John Henry that any investment must benefit the football side. The deal, according to the Financial Times, could value Liverpool at more than £4.5 billion.
The club’s revenue reached £702 million last season, the highest in the Premier League, and it ranked fifth in the Deloitte Football Money League. Hogan argued that fresh capital would be reinvested into the squad, facilities and global brand, keeping the Reds competitive in the world’s biggest sport. He also noted that the Premier League’s momentum offers a fertile environment for growth.
Liverpool will face Wrexham at the Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, a shows designed to engage the 26 million American supporters the club claims to have. Hogan sees the tour as a platform to expand the brand while the team works toward on‑field trophies. He added that the club’s priority off the pitch remains driving revenue and expanding its footprint.
While talks continue, Hogan assured fans that the club’s core project remains unchanged. He warned that any speculation about a sale should not be interpreted as a sign of weakness. The next steps involve detailed negotiations with Bhatia’s group and finalising the pre‑season schedule, which will set the tone for a season that aims to improve on a 5th‑place finish.
