Liverpool F.C. have officially confirmed that 12 players will leave the club, including first-team stars Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konate. Defender Rhys Williams departs the club after 15 years at the club, including a pivotal role as defensive cover under Jurgen Klopp during the 2021-21 campaign. A host of academy prospects also depart, including James Balagizi and Oakley Cannonier, who was the ballboy that handed Trent Alexander-Arnold the ball for the winning goal against Barcelona during the famous Champions League semi-final win in 2019. Robertson and Salah bid farewell to Anfield in an emotional send off during the final day draw with Brentford. Both the Scotland and Egyptian internationals were brought off by then-head coach Arne Slot as they received separate makeshift guards of honour. Konate, however, saw his time on Merseyside come to an end after failing to reach an agreement with the Liverpool hierarchy. The stopper had hinted that he was close to extending his deal following the win over Everton in April but the two parties didn't agree terms which will see the 27-year-old leave on a free transfer. Robertson was confirmed as a Tottenham Hotspur player on Friday. The North London club announced that the full-back will make the move to the capital following a trophy-laden spell at Anfield upon expiry of his contract this month. The 32-year-old will link up with Roberto De Zerbi after the World Cup, where he will captain Scotland at the major tournament for the first time since 1998. Andoni Iraola will get a first look over his new players when they return for pre-season next month but he will be without three key players under Klopp and Slot as they go on to pastures new. The Spaniard offered newfound belief to the up-and-coming talents at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby as he revealed during his first interview with the clubs' in-house media team that their youngsters will be afforded opportunities in pre-season. He said: 'For me right now, I think it's more than talk to the players. Some of them will be on deserved holidays, some of them will be with their national teams. I want to talk to the staff, to the people that were here every day, that know very well the players, to arrive as ready as possible to that first day of pre-season. 'I think especially with a lot of those young players that will do the pre-season with us, a lot of things about the organisation, about the staff, about how we can create the best atmosphere, the best environment so when they arrive [on] day one, everyone feels everything is in place and we can do this process of adaptation, that it will take some time as soon as possible.' Kareem Ahmed leads the list of youngsters leaving the club as Emmanuel Airoboma, DJ Bernard, Josh Davidson, Terence Miles, and Jacob Poytress will leave the club. Balagizi made the first-team bench twice during his Liverpool career during the Reds' domestic cup double in 2022 as he was an understudy to the first-team players.
