Liverpool have released a new biography celebrating the life and legacy of Diogo Jota, with all club profits funding a grassroots football programme in his name. The book, titled 'Forever in our Hearts', chronicles the Portuguese forward's journey to becoming a Premier League star and an Anfield favourite.

Written by Portuguese author and former professional footballer José Delgado, the biography includes interviews with over 90 people, including Jota's wife Rute, his parents Isabel and Joaquim, and former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp. It also features contributions from former teammates such as Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Andy Robertson, as well as figures from his early career in Portugal. The book covers his rise from playing at Paços de Ferreira and Porto, through his spells at Atlético Madrid and Wolverhampton Wanderers, to his successful transfer to Liverpool in 2020. It details his success with the national team including UEFA Nations League glory, and the close bond he shared with his brother André. The publication reflects on the tragic deaths of Diogo and André Silva in July 2025, which led to widespread grief and tributes from across football, including a minute's silence observed at grounds worldwide.

Book supports grassroots football initiatives

All profits from the book's sales through official Liverpool channels will go to the LFC Foundation to support a grassroots football programme named for Jota. The initiative aims to inspire future generations, continuing the legacy of a player remembered for his talent, determination, and humility. The programme will focus on providing access to coaching and facilities in the local Liverpool city region and in Jota's native Portugal. The book is published by Reach Sport and is available from official LFC stores and online. This follows the unveiling of a permanent memorial to Diogo and André outside Anfield earlier this year, which has become a site for fan tributes.

Club's current form and upcoming challenge

The release comes as Liverpool, currently fifth in the Premier League with 12 points from seven games, prepare for a key home match against Brighton this Saturday. Jürgen Klopp's side are on a three-game winning run in all competitions, a sequence that includes a dramatic 4-3 victory over Villarreal in their last outing. They face a Brighton team sitting third in the table, a key fixture in their push for a top-four finish. The club's current form, with four wins in their last five matches, provides a positive backdrop as they honour their eternal No.20. Liverpool host Brighton at Anfield on 25 October. The club has confirmed that a special tribute to Jota will be held on the pitch ahead of kick-off, with his family in attendance.
