Mohamed Salah has been banned from driving for six months following a speeding offence involving his Rolls-Royce. The former Liverpool forward was convicted of failing to give information about who was driving the vehicle when it was caught by a speed camera in Wilmslow, Cheshire, on 27 March.
Salah did not respond to the initial notice of prosecution or enter a plea to the charge. Cheshire Police brought the case, which was heard under the Single Justice Procedure at Warrington Combined Court. The court confirmed the conviction for failing to identify the driver, imposing the six-month ban and ordering Salah to pay a total of £1,044.
Timing of the offence
The offence occurred just days after Salah publicly confirmed his departure from Liverpool on 24 March, ending a nine-year stay at Anfield. In a tribute marking his exit, the club said he had "firmly established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool's history".
Salah's legacy and current status
During his time with Liverpool, the 34-year-old Egyptian captain scored 257 goals in 442 appearances, winning two Premier League titles and becoming the club's third-highest all-time scorer. He now plays for Turkish side Trabzonspor, having moved following the 2025-26 season.
