Liverpool F.C. Has secured a £1.4 billion investment, with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos becoming a co-owner as part of a consortium led by Amit Bhatia. The deal sees Fenway Sports Group (FSG) sell a 30% stake, while retaining majority ownership and operational control. The club finished 5th in the Premier League last season with 60 points, 25 behind leaders Arsenal.

The strategic partnership brings global business and technology expertise to Anfield. Bezos, the third-richest man in the world, will not join the board but will be represented by Bryan Baum of K5 Global. Amit Bhatia, former QPR director, takes on the role of vice-chairman, while Elaine Saverin, wife of Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, also joins the expanded board.

FSG President Mike Gordon emphasized the long-term vision, stating that the investment aligns with Liverpool’s philosophy. The consortium’s experience is expected to complement the club’s existing leadership, supporting growth both on and off the pitch. Liverpool scored 63 goals last season while conceding 53, finishing with a +10 goal difference.

The club will work with the new investors to evaluate opportunities for further development. Bhatia expressed admiration for FSG’s achievements and pledged support for Liverpool’s continued success. The investment comes as Liverpool prepares for the new season, aiming to improve on last year’s fifth-place finish.
