Christian Heidel, Mainz 05’s sporting director, has confirmed that the club is not under any pressure to sell Sano. Heidel stated, "We don’t have to sell Kaishu; we can afford to keep him." However, he acknowledged that if an offer comes in that is too good to refuse, the club would consider it. Heidel also hinted that England is a likely destination for Sano if he does leave Mainz.
Sano’s impressive performances for Mainz and his standout display at the World Cup have caught the attention of several top clubs. Liverpool F.C., who finished fifth in the Premier League last season with 60 points (17W-9D-12L), are looking to strengthen their midfield.
